Classical composers are notorious for going back to their past compositions and revising their works. Fansubbers are notorious for coming up with high number of release candidates, except for speedsubbers. But one of these days, we do hit a satisfactory product, being able to make a release, even if it's 3 years after the initial broadcast day.
So yay~ First episode of this lovely show is out! By the way, for all you French speakers, realize that Japanese voice actors can't speak an ounce of French correctly. Altogether, beware the weird looking new girl (come on, just look at that horrific make-up!) that lives in your apartment and don't associate with close-doored otaku.
PS: Chiaki rapes Nodame. She even admits it! I bet she loved every moment of it (muwhaha). |

To build some excitement for the new season of Nodame, here's a little something we missed from the last season – the DVD-only episode that fits between episode 8 & 9. |
| Lupin III - Green vs. Red |
CRC : 15911C89 |
Released : 2008/10/03 |
This Lupin is different. Way different. Green vs Red was created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Lupin III. Green vs Red is an OVA, not the usual TV specials we normally see, which means some format differences. It's about 10 minutes shorter than the regular TV specials. (Bad!) It's in wide screen format. (Good!) Of course, there are things that just don't change too, most importantly, the cast - namely, the main quintet (Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko, and Zenigata) plus Yuji Ono on music.
The differences are more than just the surface format that I mentioned, though. You don't see the usual silliness. You don't see Lupin chasing babes. You don't hear Goemon say, "I slashed another worthless object..." In fact, it's so different that you may find it far less pleasing and far less satisfying than the usual TV specials. But if you're like me, who like his cool and smart side, then this is just another take on Lupin, bringing out a different kind of Lupin quality.
One big question in this movie is - who is Lupin? Jigen gives one version of the answers at around 27:30. But we should be able to figure out other answers on our own. There's no single right answer. (And you may hate the vagueness... if you do, think twice before watching this.)
P.S. Did you see that they are making Lupin special edition of Fiat 500? |

The tiny, dinky train station they use in this episode really exists. The amount of details they've drawn on that building is already amazing. Sure, the building itself is simple, but there still are so much detail. But... did they really have to spend 3 months to draw all that? |

This episode is based on yet another Japanese folktale called Warashibe Choja. The moral of the story is simple - I'm sure you'll catch on quickly. |

When I took the calligraphy classes as a kid, they were quite uninspiring. We just try to write those letters pretty, and that's it? I didn't have the patience to sit and do that for a long time. I had pretty bad hand writing to start with, so it was extra painful to me. Ugh, the memories... |
